BRUNO MARKIC
Bruno Markić was born in 2002 in Zagreb, Croatia. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 2024 with the thesis “Impact of technological parameters on single photon avalanche diodes’ characteristics” which aimed at experimentally verifying and comparing the viability of different SPAD layouts. The B.Sc. thesis was done under the supervision of Prof. Tomislav Suligoj.
During his M.Sc. degree he shifted his focus to the simulation of nanoelectronic devices. He completed his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (profile Electronics) in 2026 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb with the thesis “Characteristics of Majorana zero modes in realistic topological
superconductor InAs quantum wires”, which aimed at assessing the viability of Majorana based qubits in the presence of stochastic electrochemical potential (disorder). The M.Sc. thesis was done under the supervision of Prof. Mirko Poljak.
He joined the NanoElectronic Devices and Circuits (NEDeC) group in 2026 and started his PhD in Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Udine under the supervision of Prof. David Esseni the same year. His research interests include the characterization of nanoelectronic devices and the quantum transport through them using the Non-Equilibrium Green's Function (NEGF) method.
